Planning Permission Secured for St Joseph’s Expansion

St Joseph’s care home in Danbury Essex, has successfully gained planning permission from Essex County Council to build a brand new wing to the already expansive care home that currently provides 41 beds.

The new wing will be a two storey extension with an area of almost 10,000sq ft. The space will provide an additional 20 beds with one current room being demolished to make way for the extension, the home will then provide a total number of 60 beds.

Each room will have an en-suite bathroom, and these additional rooms will have the use of their very own day room and dining area as well as pharmacy, storage and linen room.

“We are delighted to have gained planning permission to extend St Joseph’s” commented Andy Jones of Bright Home Developments.

“Essex County Council were extremely supportive of our plans, recognising the need for extra care provision in the county” added Andy.

St Joseph’s recently underwent renovation work to seven of its rooms, providing en-suites and new lifting equipment as well as rewiring for new alarm systems and aesthetic improvements offering a fresh look to these rooms.

St Josephs was recently awarded “Good” in its Care Quality Commission report.
